Oral Appliance Therapy
Oral Appliance Therapy has been recognized as a useful option that helps to maintain an open airway by restricting the reward collapse of the tongue during sleep by advancing the lower jaw, in a more forward position. This option has been recognized by the FDA and most insurers to be a safe and reliable option for many patients suffering from OSA, who may not be able to tolerate PAP therapy. The ideal candidate has been diagnosed with mild to moderate OSA. Oral Appliance Therapy is not recommended for those diagnosed with severe OSA.
myTAP is a precision fit treatment solution for snoring and sleep apnea that is both patient friendly and affordable. This sleep apnea device advances and stabilizes the jaw so the soft tissues of the throat and tongue do not collapse into the airway; preventing snoring and sleep apnea.
The prescription-only Tap 3 Elite forces the lower jaw into a forward position to reduce the risk of obstructions in the airway.
Do you snore only when sleeping on your back? Here’s why! When laying on your back, the tongue collapses into the airway and breathing is obstructed. End result: disruptive snoring. Luckily, there is an easy fix!
Have you been diagnosed with moderate to severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea but cannot tolerate PAP therapy? You may be a candidate for Inspire – the breakthrough sleep apnea treatment that works inside your body with your natural breathing process. No mask, no hose, no noise. Now performed by Dr. James Connolly.
Inspire therapy is a breakthrough implantable treatment option for people with Obstructive Sleep Apnea who are unable to use or get consistent benefit from Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). While you’re sleeping, Inspire monitors every breath you take. Based on your unique breathing patterns, the system delivers mild stimulation to the hypoglossal nerve which controls the movement of your tongue and other key airway muscles. By stimulating these muscles, the airway remains open during sleep.
The Inspire obstructive sleep apnea device is controlled by a small handheld sleep remote. The remote allows you to turn Inspire therapy on before bed and off when you wake up, increase and decrease stimulation strength, and pause during the night if needed. Learn more…
