Matthew William Cooper, MD, is an otology and otolaryngology specialist at SLENT, a superior otolaryngology practice with three clinics in Louisiana. Dr. Cooper practices at the office located in Metairie, Louisiana.
He specializes in general otorhinolaryngology care and advanced otologic surgery, including complex tympanoplasty (reconstruction of the middle ear), mastoidectomy for chronic ear disease, and transmastoid surgeries of the lateral skull base. He also has expertise in clinical and surgical management for thyroid and parathyroid glands disorders.
Dr. Cooper worked as a firefighter and paramedic before and while completing medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. Prior to his medical degree, he earned his bachelor’s degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.
He finished his medical training with a residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and a fellowship in advanced otology at the same institution.
Dr. Cooper is board-eligible with the American Board of Otolaryngology and has published numerous studies in prestigious medical journals. He holds medical licenses in North Carolina and Louisiana. Dr. Cooper enjoys helping his patients find relief from allergies, sleep disorders, hearing loss, ear infections, and other conditions that affect the ear, nose, throat, head, or neck.
